Overview About the Program Studies

The end of financial and political crisis in1998 was marked by the tendency of improvement in the Indonesian economy. This was indicated by the increasing number of business units established after the 1998 crisis period that developed vastly. Additionally, many business units that experienced financial crisis in 1998 has recovered from their fall. One characteristic of the globalization era is the creation of trade and investment between countries that tends not to recognize state borders. This condition triggers a more intense business competition, both nationally, regionally and globally  Increasing number of business units developed in the era of  intense global competition creates greater employment opportunities for qualified accountants.

A country's economic advancement is significantly determined by the success of its entrepreneurs. The more the successful entrepreneurs in a country, the greater the contributed portion of development. In a bid to survive, and even appeared as the winner in the business competition, beside innovative and professional requirements, entrepreneurs should also be able to utilize appropriate technologies. Additionally, the economic prosperity of a country will achieve economic justice when many successful entrepreneurs still care about their environment.

By considering the above remarked conditions, Bakrie University opened Accounting Studies Program that is expected to make accounting graduates who have entrepreneurial spirit and are able to utilize appropriate technology (Technopreneurship), innovative, professional and care about the environment. Moreover, this expected course of study will be a vehicle for conducting research as well as community service.

Mission

1. Carry out accounting science education program with the basis of adaptive curriculum toward changes in the social environment, science and cutting-edge technology.
2. Conduct research in the field of accounting knowledge in order to produce a superior scientific work.
3. Implement community service in accordance with the competency.

Course Objectives

• Create graduates who are reliable in the field of accounting, both conceptually and practically, and have the entrepreneurial spirit and are able to leverage the appropriate technology so that they can compete in national and global level.
• Create graduates who are able to work professionally, always innovative in the face of competition, and care about the environment.
• Produce scholarly work in the field of accounting that is beneficial for society and is become a reference in the development of science.
• Improve life quality of the society as a form of care toward the environment.

Graduates Competency

Bachelor of Accounting graduate from Bakrie University has a high competence as external accountant or public accountant, internal accountant in government as well as private institution, and consultant. This is achievable because the alumni mastered in a conceptual and practical manner the field of financial accounting, management accounting, accounting information system, taxation, auditing, public sector accounting, and other related fields.
